Baranguba

Creative director, video designer & producer

Eight months of development saw animator Duncan Irving Visumotus Interactive and myself collaborate with the @djaadjawandancers13 undertake a creative development and then a full showing of Baranguba.

Baranguba is the story of a tragedy that happened in the 1800’s to the First Peoples of Narooma.

The story has not only been passed down through the oral tradition but there is also a record written in the Moruya Examiner in 1892 by Reginald H Barlow.

Baranguba tells the story through film and dance weaving the traditional story with the European record to share a tale of strength and resilience.

The creative development was in April 2024 at the Yuin Theatre at the Batemans Bay Pavilions.

Rehearsals 30 Sept - 3 Oct

Performances 4 & 5 October 2024 at the Yuin Theatre, Batemans Bay Pavilions.
